When I met up with Amanda and Ivan for their engagement session here in Estes Park, the gateway town to RMNP, I was reminded of one of our first emails back and forth. Amanda inquired about pricing, said she loved the vivid colors in my outdoor shots, and told me that the unofficial wedding theme was “fun.” Then she said, “You look like you understand that concept.” I like to think I do!

I responded with a Dr. Suess quote:

“You have picked a great unofficial theme — I am totally in support of it! Dr. Seuss put it well I think: ‘”Fun is good.'”

Yes, fun *is* good. These two seem like professional Fun Havers, and if that were indeed a career, I think they would be respected worldwide for their skills.

Super excited to finally meet Amanda and Ivan, and even excited to shoot their wedding in the mountains next year. If we are defined in any way by the company we keep, then I fully expect their friends and family to be a heck of a lot of fun, and I think their wedding is going to be off the charts.

Here are a few shots from their engagement session this September in Estes Park. You can see the beautiful Twin Sisters in the background of the first shot, and a whole lot of stars in the Milky Way in the last. Read more about engagements in and around Rocky Mountain National Park here.
