JENNY + MAI | Denver, CO

I’m really drawn to cultural weddings because they tend to be very family centered. Following Vietnamese tradition, Jenny and Mai had morning tea parties at Jenny’s parents’ house and another at Mai’s parents’ house, and then had a Buddhist ceremony at a nearby monastery. These are special events to photograph, and I love documenting celebrations that take place in such intimate locations. All day long I had a great sense of how important family was to everyone at this wedding, and I felt it was very important to show this in my photographs.
