Horseshoe Park Engagement Photos

RMNP always delivers the goods!

I can’t get enough of Rocky Mountain National Park on June. It’s just coming into its peak — the aspens start to green up, the wildflowers start to bloom, the grasses appear, and the sun’s path across the continental divide in the late evening means you have hours of perfect afternoon light. It’s awesome, and it’s my favorite time of year to shoot engagement photos in Estes Park.

Erin and Zach came up from Denver for their session a few days ago, and took advantage of perfect weather and a technicolor landscape of yellows, blues and greens, all framed against an incredible backdrop of the Mummy Range and, later, of Longs Peak.

Here are a few favorites from their afternoon, shot with a new kit consisting of Fuji X-T2 bodies and Fujinon lenses. I’m slowly transitioning to the Fuji mirrorless system for engagement sessions, portraits, and the first half of the wedding day (with Canon 5d Mark IV bodies for the reception, simply because the autofocus performance in low light is much better). I love the light weight Fuji bodies and lenses.
