Ixtapa wedding photographer

Weddings in Ixtapa, on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, have a number of advantages. Itxtapa’s weather is relatively steady and mild, the area is easy to get to, and there are thousands of hotel rooms to choose from when it comes to finding a place to house your guests. For this reason alone, Ixtapa is a good place to come, particularly if you are having a larger wedding in the autumn months (when the hurricane season makes Atlantic marriage a little risky). New regulations in the last decade have made it super easy for wedding photographers to come from abroad to shoot here.

Ixtapa was developed in the early 1970s as one of the first tourist resort areas in Mexico, along with Cancun. It was basically built for tourism, which means the logistics of planning a destination wedding there are about as easy as they get. It’s super convenient: fly into the international airport and take a shuttle to town. Ixtapa is built up, so you can pick and choose between vendors to make your marriage day exactly what you have envisioned.

If you’re looking for information about our wedding photography packages, please send an email for pricing, check out this bridal resource page, and browse our portfolio of pictures. We have one offering for destination celebrations, which includes 2 unlimited days of coverage. This is great for multi day events because we can tag along and document the day before activities, the wedding day, and add on a trash the dress photo session afterward.

Dreamtime Verdict: Ixtapa

You can’t go wrong with wedding photography in Ixtapa. There are many beautiful places to take pictures of brides and grooms, and the Playa Las Gatas and Playa La Ropa are both some of the prettiest beaches in Ixtapa. Getting married at this area is recommended for couples who are looking for a convenient destination that’s easy to get to, has gorgeous beaches, has a developed hospitality industry, and is super convenient to plan a big event at. We give this place two thumbs up.

However, if you are looking for a more off the beaten path Pacific destination, where you can get married year round and not have to worry about limitations of the hurricane season, consider some of the areas around Puerto Vallarta (like Costallegre or Punta de Mita) or even Ixtapa’s funky less-known neighbor, Zihuatanejo.
