A late summer engagement at Lily Lake
Erik and Martina came up to Estes Park to do their engagement session during a warm, sunny late summer afternoon.
These are my favorite days of the year — you can sit out on the deck in shorts after the sun sets and watch the mountains turn orange and yellow all around. The light in these late afternoons is always spectacular, and that’s what we got to take advantage of during this little photo session.
I love shooting at Lily Lake, which is a few minutes from my house along Highway 7, just out of town. It’s usually less busy than other areas of the park, and it’s quieter, and the sun comes in at a real low angle late in the day so you can get a lot of super pretty pictures.
Erik and Martina had a fun story that involved a couple of countries and long distance dating and Skype and Green cards, and I had a blast hearing all about it.
Can’t wait to shoot your wedding next year! Congratulations, you two!!
