The city is the sailfish capital of the world, and is also famous for the consistency of the infamous green flash. Manzanillo is one of Mexico’s largest ports, and is an incredibly popular resort area. It’s outside of the hurricane belt, so the weather is a little more steady that the weather on the Atlantic Coast. There’s still a wet season, but planning your nuptials any time of the year is possible here. The region has some fantastic resorts, as well as the stunning Isla Navidad — discovered by Spanish explorers on Christmas Day, 1541.
Isla Navidad, just outside of Manzanillo, is one of the top resorts in Mexico. The Wyndham Grand Bay Hotel is one of the venues, as is the impressive Meson Dona Paz Lodge. The hotels only schedule a limited number of weddings per year, each of them unique. No cookie cutter celebrations here! For a truly awesome experience, you can stay at Isla Navidad Villa, which is on one of the holes of the resort’s golf course. Aside from Isla Navidad Villa and Meson Dona Paz lodge, there’s the Hotel Puerto de la Navidad.

The best places to get married in Manzanilo are Las Hadas, the Peninsula De Santiago, and La Audencia Bay are some of the best venues for Manzanillo marriages. Las Hadas was actually the background for the film 10, with Bo Derek and Dudley Moore. Other places include Tesoro, Camino Real Manzanillo, Camino Real Manzanillo, and Club Maeva Manzanillo.
