Proposal photos in Estes Park on the shores of Lily Lake

Daniel + Katie

Daniel popped the question beneath the peaks of the Twin Sisters

I love shooting surprise proposals, so when Daniel emailed me about his plans in Estes Park, I was pretty excited. He wanted to pop the question to Katie on a family trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, so we discussed the best way to do it and decided on Lily Lake, a gorgeous little spot just outside of town with the high peaks of Twin Sisters looming above.

The family arrived at Lily Lake and went on a walk, and shortly thereafter, Katie and Daniel arrived to go on a walk as well. It was a late afternoon, with warm evening light filtering over the Continental Divide. The family made their way to a little hidden vantage point so they could watch, and I dressed as a tourist and pretended to shoot landscape photos.

When Daniel arrived at our pre-scouted location, I moved my camera onto him and Katie and he dropped down on one knee. She of course said yes, I shot a few family photos, and then we trekked around the lake for a mini engagement session.
